Curtis Jones has revealed that Mohamed Salah said sorry to the entire Liverpool squad after the uproar from his recent interview.

What Happened

The striker was dropped from a European match subsequent to voicing frustrations and claiming his rapport with Arne Slot had soured.

“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I'm sorry.’”

The manager has chosen not to reveal on whether he received a personal apology from the veteran striker.

Looking Ahead

He emphasized that the team's response stayed normal. “He was his usual self, he was smiling and we all treated him normally,” he continued.

Jones also suggested that a player's desire to start is preferable. “It's clear there are certain ways you can express yourself,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just not start, then I think that’s more of an issue.”

On-Field Response

Liverpool's form have been impressive in the games following the initial controversy. He feels the forward's comments were never meant to harm the team.

“When there’s been any sort of anger, the source has been from a place of caring,” the midfielder stated. “It's behind us and we’re uniting strongly, playing well and starting to win games.”
