NY Giants quarterback Russell Wilson did not hold back on social media this Tuesday, responding to recent criticism from his ex-mentor Sean Payton.

"Classless... but not surprised...," Wilson stated on X. "Didn't realize you're still offering rewards 15+ years later through the press."

The quarterback's remarks directly referenced the infamous Bounty Gate issue from 2009-11, when Payton led the Saints.

At that time, the league found that the Saints had incentivized players for delivering hard hits on opponents. As a result, Payton received a suspension from the league for a full year.

Wilson's response came after Payton made comments after the Broncos' remarkable comeback win over the New York. The coach remarked that the team had "discovered new energy" with their new QB, who has taken over Wilson as the starting quarterback.

Moreover, Payton hinted that he had told team owner John Mara that he would rather playing against Wilson over Dart.

"I spoke to John Mara recently and I said, 'We were hoping that change would've happened long after our game,'" the coach stated.
